No Turn Signals On Trailer After Installing 118802 on 2017 Escape SE
Question:
Verified with both my trailer and a light tester. Both brake lights and running lights work perfectly on the trailer but the turn signals do not work on the trailer. The turn signals do still function on the tow vehicle.

The first step to troubleshooting the turn signals not working on your trailer is to check all of the grounds on both the trailer side and vehicle 4-pole flat part # 118802 to make sure they are ground to a clean bare metal surface. An insufficient ground is the culprit for most turn signal issues after a 4-pole flat installation.
If your ground connections are okay, make sure the connects at the tail lights are properly seated together, not loose and the pins are not bent.
If those connections are okay, then use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the green and yellow wire circuit on the 4-pole flat for power. If you get power there, then you know the issue is with the trailer side wiring. You want to trace those functions back on the trailer wiring and check for any frayed or damaged wiring that needs to be replaced.
If you do not get power on the circuits at the 4-pole flat you know the issue is on the vehicle side. It is a good idea to check your vehicle's owners manual to see if there are any trailer related fuses in the power distribution box that could have blown.
If your fuses are okay, check the green and yellow wires that go into the converter box for power if you do have power going into the box but no power at the 4-pole circuits, then the wiring harness needs to be replaced because the converter box is bad.
