Best Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for a Trailer with +1,000 Lbs Tongue Weight

Question:

Just purchased a new 37 foot travel trailer that is 8100 # dry weight with a tongue weight of 1058#. Question is should I go with the 14000#system instead of the 12000# because of the tongue weight? I dont want to end up with something too stiff going down the road and riding rough. Thanks for the help.

Helpful Expert Reply:

For your travel trailer with 1,058 lbs of tongue weight I would absolutely go with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System 14K part # EQ37140ET which is rated for 1,000-1,400 lbs of tongue weight. The reason for this is because the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system includes both that of the loaded ready to tow trailer but also that of the cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. This option will allow for far more room to add weight should you choose to do so and it would not be too stiff for your setup. I know we have asked in the past and Equal-i-zer has always said to go with the next size up from what you think you need.

I have attached a review video of the above system for you as well.
