Question:

I have a 2017 ford F350 DWR. I have super hitch magnum with 42 inch extension. I will be towing a 26 foot enclosed triple axle trailer with extended tongue. The weight I will be towing will be 12,000 pounds. My vehicle payload weight 6600 pounds. I carry a in the bed camper at 5500 pounds. My question is what size weight distribution hitch should I get.

In order to choose the best weight distribution system, you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2017 Ford F-350.

To determine your trailer's tongue weight, you can use a scale such as the etrailer # e99044 or by use one of the methods outlined in the help article on determining tongue weight I've linked for you. From there, simply add on the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your vehicle and you'll have your TTW. The ideal system would be one in which your TTW would fall somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.

For example, if your TW was 1,250 lbs then a great system would be the Equal-i-zer # EQ37140ET, which is for TTW between 1,100 lbs and 1,400 lbs. I've added a link to each of our weight distribution systems for you to take a look at.
