The Curt Clevis Hook with Spring Loaded Safety Latch - 7/16 - 40,000 lbs Item # C81970 that you referenced is Grade 70, the attachment pin is 1/2 inch diameter, and the opening where the chain would slip through and the pin would hold it in place measures 5/8 inch. So basically the thickness of your chain link would need to be less than 5/8 inch and the width of the link opening would need to be more than 1/2 inch.

Your best and easiest solution will be to replace the clevis hooks of your current safety chains with the part #C81970 which will easily fit the safety chain loops of the Curt ball and safety chain kit part #C60692 that you referenced.
