Can Tire Load Ranges be Mixed Between Spare and Rest of Trailer
Question:
I had a blowout on my camper in a remote area in Texas. I found a shop with my size tires but a different load range. Mine takes a C and all he had were Ds. I took it because I thought it was better than no spare at all. Is it safe to mix tires of different load ranges?

Helpful Expert Reply:
It's not ideal to mix Load Ranges since they will require different air pressure in the tire. In an emergency situation though you'd be fine to get home. In a perfect world the spare would have the same Load Range as the rest of the trailer.
