Recommended Flat Towing Base Plate and Wiring for a 2013 or 2014 Honda CR-V
Question:
I traded for the 2014 Honda CR-V yesterday. I have reviewed the parts and videos you provided and everything looks perfect. I will be placing an order this afternoon for all the parts and wiring kits. I will also need a breakaway switch for an RVI2 brake, assume you have a part number for that also? Thanks for all your help.

For a 2013 Honda CR-V we have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2258 that will work well with your Blue Ox Tow Bar. I recommend using Loctite Threadlocker # LT37420 for this installation.
For your vehicle wiring, I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56304 which is the easiest kit to install with no splicing required and connects directly to the Honda wiring harness behind the tail lights. You will also need the 48" Long 4-Pole Loop with Cover # HM47115 for this harness, but it is really easy to install and utilize. This is most likely like the Wrangler harness you were referencing.
The best wiring option in my opinion is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will give you diodes to protect your vehicle wiring and electronics as well as give you the connector cable and a 6 way input. This allows you to add the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 to give a maintenance charge to your vehicle battery when towing so the braking system you use doesn't diminish your battery.
With either wiring option, you will need the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicle - (2) 20-Amp ATM Mini-Fuses # RM76512 if your owners manual requires pulling both the #19 and #20 fuses. If it only states to pull the #19 fuse, then use # RM76511.
You will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 when using a supplemental braking system to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks for the information. I like the Hopkins wiring kits that I have used in the past. I usually cut the 4 pin plug off and terminate the wires into a 6 pin plug. That way I can run a charging line from my MH if needed. I am now looking at a 2014 CRV which I assume all the wiring and base will be the same? Neither the 2013 or 2014 CRV appear to have a trailer hitch so I will likely need one of those also. I looked at your Curt instructions and the hitch looks like a bolt on product which is great. Will also need a trailer lighting kit for this hitch.
