Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

installed on a 2013 Honda CRV for a small trailer.
package was wet on delivery and seemed to have some damage to it.
the blinkers worked but were all extremely dim.
when installing it you do not need cut and splice the wires through a grommet hole(that was my fault did not take thing apart enough) on the drivers side on the under the paneling.

This brand working good on my Honda crv, no issues

2013 Honda CR-V

Very easy installation. Followed the video. Harness worked perfectly. I would recommend an interior panel tool. The hardest part of the job is reaasembling everything. It went fairly easily. I found that there is an order in the way you replace everything. Unfortunately, I learned it by trial and error. I would say it took about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the job.

Everything works perfectly.

I ordered this harness for our 2014 Honda CRV in order to pull a 4ft x 4ft trailer to Ohio (700 mi) to bring home some family heirlooms. The local car shop quoted nearly $600 dollars to install the 2” receiver and light plug. Buying both through etrailer was about $450 cheaper and installed in an afternoon. I was a mechanic in military for several years so decided to do it myself. Very easy to do both projects and minimal tools required. I didn’t even get to buy new tools, I had everything at home already. They had links to online videos that made everything simple to understand. These two items have worked perfectly many times and we use the receiver for many things now like a bike rack. Win win, would recommend to anyone.

I have been a customer of etrailer for many years.

If they carry what I want I buy it from etrailer.

2008 Honda Odyssey

The weather and my schedule finally cooperated enough for me to install my Trailer Hitch this weekend. I actually installed mine and also I mentioned a week ago to a friend of mine about your trailer hitches and we installed one on his Honda Odyssey at the same time. We started in the morning and had both completed by noon (his van was a 2008 so we had to use a tap to clean out the treads and that took a long time).

The following is what I ordered:
1 T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness
1 Curt Led 4-way Flat Connector Tester
1 Draw-Tite Max-frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2

First let me thank you for your quick links to the YouTube videos. They were extremely helpful.

Wiring harness installation:
The only deviation I made from the instructions/video was to route the 4-way Flat Connector out through an existing slot in the lower trim panel rather than sandwich it between the lower panel and the metal frame. If fit through without any issues and I felt it would cause a little less stress and wear and tear on the wires.

I am so very glad I ordered the tester so that I could check to make sure I had everything connected correctly before re-installing the lower and upper trim panels. FYI - The technician in the video re-installing the trim panels must be a Trim Panel Installer - LEVEL EXPERT!! :)

2013 Honda CR-V

I ordered a hitch and the wiring harness on a Monday afternoon. The U.P.S. man delivered two days later on Wednesday at 3-30pm and I had both items installed by 6-30pm.
Quality of both items is first class. Customer service offered by e trailer was just exceptional. Overall a great purchasing experience.
The videos provided for installation are a great help. I watched them a couple of times before I even ordered the products and they certainly help fill in the blanks left in the written instructions.
The comments written by other customers were also invaluable.
I too left the rear panel in place on my CRV and cut the opening leaving a "hinge" at the rear of the car. Just pull it down, slip the hitch into place and replace flap.
I am in my mid seventies so used a floor jack to support the hitch when installing bolts. No problem installing both items on my own.
One minor issue,,,,,,the name plate on the hitch is not installed level!! Other than that small issue, I would highly recommend both products. The product supplier is to be highly commended for the way in which it deals with customers, just superb..

2013 Honda CR-V

I installed the DrawTite hitch in about 45 minutes without any problems. The next day I did the wiring and it was very easy. Once the panels in my 2013 Honda CRV were pulled open, the wiring harness just plugs right in and then the panels are snapped back into place. The wiring took about 35 minutes. Easy installation on the hitch and the wiring. Thanks so much.

2013 Honda CR-V

This receiver hitch is outstanding! I watched the video online and then used the instructions to complete the installation. Since this was my 2nd installation I took my time. No problems...I also installed the wiring kit and everything went smooth, the hitch and wiring both work great!
Thank you for providing a superior product at a fair price.. rm

Honda

Product is fine, works as advertised.

NOTE:
The installation directions and video MAY be incorrect for your Honda. Both show the blue connector that you attach the tee to as next to a black box behind the left, lower wall panel above the spare tire. Honda does NOT install the connector in the same place in all CRVs. On my '16 CRV, the blue connector was NOT there (see photo and compare to instructions/video). Instead, it was in the tan panel above the panel E-trailer says, directly under the rear-most driver's-side window. You still need to pop out the panel E-trailer directs to then pop out the panel above it, so your time is not wasted.

by:

Clear instructions and easy to install We watched installation video and that helped as well. Used the free shipping and I received the hitch and lighting kit in 2 days! Amazing!

by:
2013 Honda CR-V

The video instructions were very good to a point. Getting the panels snapped out took very little effort. However getting those plastic panels back in their exact place takes a lot more patience and analysis than the narrator states. I would encourage the narration to include more of a caution about getting the panels back in place.

I have had my hitch and wiring harness for approximately one year, purchased and installed by etrailer. I have nothing but good things to report. The price was right, the equipment is solid, and they were great people to deal with.

2016 Ford Flex

I recently purchased a trailer hitch and wiring harness for my new 2016 CRV. It arrived quickly and in good shape. After watching the installation videos several times, the installation was quits simple and straight forward. For the cutout in the appearance panel, I made a template to trace using the measurements given in the instructions and cut it out without removing the panel from the car. When the hitch was completely bolted in place, I drilled matching holes (about 3 per side) in the cutout piece and the panel still in place and "laced" them together using small cable ties to cover the opening and then sprayed the spot with Flex Seal to complete the job. Installing the wiring harness was just as shown in the videos. What a difference from the days of identifying wires and splicing them together!

Everything has worked perfectly!

by:
2016 Honda CR-V

This kit comes exactly as the video shows and the plugs match the Honda CRV wiring plugs exactly (except for color). There is no wire piercing. The drivers side trunk plastic side panel fights you but not much work room is needed since the wiring loom is near the rear and you just have to separate one plug and re-route it through the T plugs in the kit. This "T" is actually a Y of wiring about 5-6 inches long and with the appropriate mating plugs on the ends. They are very distinct and fit only the correct way. Two choices of grounding bolts are close. This trailer light package is much more like a factory installation, and much less costly. See the video first.

Jack C.

2/2/2018

This factory like wiring kit installs just as I said, and works fine, no fuses blown etc. Trailer light problems have only been with the salt water immersed tail lights.

Thanks for the follow up. As an extra precaution to prevent any additional blown fuses we recommend disconnecting the trailer wiring harness from your CR-V before launching your boat. Just make sure that you secure both wiring ends to ensure they are not immersed as well.

2014 Honda CR-V

I purchased the T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness from Etrailer about a week ago. Shipping was extremely fast, it arrived on the 3rd day after purchase. Installation was an absolute snap, anyone can do it and you do not need any special tools; took me about 30 minutes total. Watch the video. I left the video on play during installation which helped a lot. This is a modular plug-in and use wiring harness, no need to cut, splice, tape, etc. A high quality product you will not be disappointed with. Great price from Etrailer, too !

2012 Honda CR-V

I bought the class III hitch and bike rack from etrailer.com last year, and wanted to finish the job with the harness so I can do some towing. This is just a fantastic product. Great video makes it an absolute breeze. The hardest part was learning how to take apart and reassemble the interior since I have never done anything like this to any vehicle (automotive work is not my "thing"). So there was an initial learning curve for me even with the video showing in detail how to do it. But once I had the interior apart, the actual install was literally minutes. Cant wait to roll down the road towing my water toys:) Thanks George!

  • Towing Capacity of 2013 Honda CR-V and Recommended Hitch and Wiring
From what I was able to determine from my research, the 2013 Honda CR-V has a towing capacity of 1500-lbs, so as long as the boat and trailer weigh under 1500-lbs you can tow it with your vehicle without damaging it. If you need a trailer hitch to tow your new boat, I recommend using the Curt C13119 because of the durability of the powder coat on the Curt hitches, which is important for making sure that it doesn't get rusted. There are some other things you'll need to tow a trailer, including...
