Will The Swagman Standard 4 Bike Rack # S64400 Work With Hitch Adapter Behind an RV To Tow Vehicle

Question:

Will this carrier accept the adapter to allow it to be in between the RV and a vehicle in tow? I need to have this on the back and tow a vehicle as well. Thanks.

You could use the Swagman Standard 4 Bike Rack, part # S64400, fits 2 inch receivers and will work with a 2 inch adapter like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, part # RM-077-2, or Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, part # D210. You will want to make sure not to exceed the tongue weight capacity of the adapter you are using. You will also want to make sure that the bottom shank of the bike rack is at least 15 inches off the ground.

The Swagman Standard 4 Bike Rack, part # S64400, is designed to be used behind RVs, and will work well for your application. This Swagman Rack also includes an anti-rattle hitch pin. For added security, I would recommend using Swagman Locking Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin, part # S64027.

If you have an RV mounted tow bar, you will want to use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, part # RM-077-2. If you have a car mounted tow bar, you will want to use Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, part # D210.

The weight of the bike rack and the bikes on the rack is considered tongue weight, plus the tongue weight of the trailer will contribute to the overall tongue weight. You will want to make sure not to exceed the lowest rated component of your towing setup.
