Recommended Heavy Duty Roof Rack for 2016 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a 2016 Ford F-150 with extended cab. The maximum lenght available on the roof for adding a track is 36 inches. Can these tracks be cut or do you have shorter tracks?

I may have a solution for you, however I don't recommend trimming the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks like the 58 Inch # RRRTV148 that you referenced. These strips do feature pre-cut holes for the rivets so trimming any portion of the units will essentially change the way they are meant to attach. You would also need to make sure that the cuts are perfectly straight up and down so the end caps will fit properly. We do have shorter lengths available, such as the 36-1/4 inch # RRRTS540, which will be a better fit for your F-150.

Installing the tracks will require you to rivet the strips in place on your truck's naked roof. They are compatible with Rhino-Rack Track Mount Legs like # RLTP which are compatible with Heavy Duty Crossbars like the 59 inch # RB1500.

If you like the Heavy Duty bars but would rather not modify the roof of your truck, I recommend taking a look at the Rhino Rack Heavy Duty Square Bar Roof Rack instead. This system consists of # RB1500 for the crossbars, # RRRLKHD for the 2500 Series Legs, and # DK427 for the Custom DK Fit Kit. The Fit Kit and Legs on this system will clamp to the door jambs on your truck.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this roof rack that you can also check out.
