When Can Key of Epicord Battery Disconnect Switch with Key # 277-000096 be Removed

Am I correct in the fact that when the key is removed completely that the battery is disconnected. Also, what position should the larger part of the key be facing for the battery to NOT BE DISCONNECTED. The On and Off terminology is confusing to me. Is the battery on or off..... or is the disconnect on or off? Thank for your clarification on this!

The only time the key of the Epicord Battery Disconnect Switch with Key # 277-000096 can be removed is when the key is in the off position. The key has to be installed for it to be in "ON". And by "ON" that refers to the battery being ON.

I went out to the warehouse and found that from the white plate to the furthest point on the key measures 2-5/8" for the Epicord Battery Disconnect Switch with Key #277-000096. I have attached a picture for a visual.
