2-1/2 inch Shank Recommendation for Curt 17500 Weight Distribution System

Question:

I have a three year old Curt 17500 system for towing my trailer. I have replaced my pickup and need a new shank for my new for my system with a 2.5inch x2.5inch shank. Current shank is 4inch /8inch rise but shank was 2inch for my old F-150 PU hitch. It appears that the 4x8 will work fine for my new truck except for the larger 2.5inch hitch. I do not see any 4x8 Curt shanks for a 2.5inch hitch. Will an equalizer shank be interchangeable?

Expert Reply:

We have the Equal-I-Zer shank part # EQ90-02-4800 which fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch and has the rise/drop numbers you listed of 8 inches of rise and 4 inches of drop.

The Equalizer shanks and Curt shanks are interchangeable as they are made to the same dimensions.
