EcoHitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have decided I want to install an ecohitch trailer hitch on my 2016 outback. Can you help with determining the other accessories I may need. My main use will be for a small trailer hauling yard waste. the trailer has a 2inch ball, Im not sure of the height when the trailer is level or the height or the top of the mount on the hitch so I dont know what kind of ball mount I need, also I dont know if I need the longer shank with this hitch. I know i need the wiring kit as well, is there anything else I am missing?

The EcoHitch part # 306-X7601 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon and would be a great option for a hitch.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118467 which is also a confirmed fit.
