2-1/2 inch Hitch Shank Recommendation for Blue Ox Weight Distribution
Question:
my truck has a 2.5 receiver my blue ox shank is 2inch have adaptor from gm installed have towed 31 foot trailer app.4500 miles have noticed some play between receiver and adaptor would BX88312 work with 800lb tongue weight

Best solution is to replace your 2 inch Blue Ox weight distribution shank with one that is designed for a 2-1/2 inch hitch. For that you'd want the # EQ90-02-4900 which will fit your hitch without an adapter and because of that will reduce the play you are experiencing. This will also work great with your current weight distribution system head and tongue weight.
