Recommended Trailer Hitch and Towing Components For 2015 VW Golf TDI Sportwagen
Question:
Bought a Hidden Hitch 60283 from eTrailer for the 2010 VW TDI Sportwagen a few years ago.- - has worked well. Now selling that car back to VW, and have bought a 2015 VW TDI Golf Sportwagen. Can I pull the hitch from the 2010 to put on the 2015?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Hidden Hitch 60283 has been discontinued. This hitch is not a fit for your 2015 model as they are only a fit for 2009 to 2014 model years.
For your 2015 VW TDI Golf Sportwagen, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24949. This hitch requires no drilling, but underbody panel and fascia must be temporarily removed for installation. I recommend this hitch over the Curt # C11422 because it doesn't require a stabilization strap # 18050 for accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier.
If you will be towing or using lighted accessories, I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 for your wiring. This kit is confirmed to fit your vehicle.
For a ball mount, I recommend the Draw-tite # 3593 along with a hitch ball like # 19258 for a 2 inch or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter.
