The Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # S64683 is a great bike rack. For a compatible hitch with your 2013 Ford Escape, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75758. This 2 inch hitch receiver is easy to install and will give you the strength and stability along with a clean look for any other accessories or for towing. This hitch will put the receiver tube under your rear bumper so you won't hit your shins when it is not being used. The recessed tube will still allow for all of the functions of the Chinook bike rack and will give you a nice tight fit when folded for storage with 1 inch of clearance to protect you vehicle and rack.
I think you will be very happy with this combination.
