Can a Class II Yakima Bike Rack be Used in a Class I Draw-Tite Hitch on a 1999 Honda Accord
Question:
Im using a 1.25inch bike rack Yakima Hold Up on our Sante Fe. that rack fits class II hitches. It does not fit most class I due to the stop punch/weld in place on class I to prevent using class II equipment. I realize this is a class I hitch but will only use it to haul 100lbs or less bike rack plus two 25 bikes on our Honda. Does this rack have anything that prevents the rack from fully inserting? Im using it on an existing hitch that bolts to the trunk sheet metal but it is getting rusty and I prefer to replace it with something stronger. I had to grind down the small punch they made that prevented using class II gear.

The Curt trailer hitch # C11290 is a confirmed fit for your 1999 Honda Accord. It does not have the stop in the receiver tube.
The only thing is Curt says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. I have linked a video showing how the strap works.
