Recommended Brake Actuator Coupler For Tandem Axle Drum Brakes Replacing 6600 lb Coupler

Question:

Currently I have a Tie Down Engineering, Model 66, 6600 lb. brake actuator, 2inch ball, straight tongue. The trailer is a tandem axle with drum brakes on both axles. Can you suggest a replacement?

For a replacement brake actuator coupler, I recommend the Titan Zinc-Plated, Leverlock Brake Actuator - Drum - Adjustable Ball - Bolt On - 7,000 lbs # T43397007K. This is a zinc plated coupler for corrosion resistance. It is a durable steel construction with a bolt on installation (holes 3 inches apart on center).

If you want a manual lockout actuator, I recommend the Titan Brake Actuator with Manual Lockout - Bolt On - Drum - 2" Ball - 7,500 lbs # T63FR. The lockout switch on this hydraulic actuator lets you deactivate your trailer brakes so that you can back up easier. Free-backing brakes on not required with this application. This is a bolt on installation as well.
