To install a brake controller on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee you will most likely have to hard wire. From the information I was able to obtain there is a brake controller connection point, but the connector is not available aftermarket. If a connector is supplied, it will be in one of two locations. The first is under the dash just to the left of the steering column. The second is behind the driver's side kick panel next to the emergency brake pedal.
If you find the connector you will need to compare it to one of two connectors, we have available to see if it is the same connector and you will need to determine if the connector will be pinned properly using a circuit tester, item # PTW2993. The two connectors are the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Dodge Vehicles, item # 3020-P, that you referenced and the Tekonsha Brake Control Adapter - 2010 Dodge, item # 3021-P. It should be apparent if either one of the connectors is even close to a correct fit.
If these connectors are not found the only other option is to hard-wire an electric brake controller like the Prodigy P2, item # 90885. We have detailed instructions for how to hard wire a brake controller on our Brake Controller Installation, Starting from Scratch page (see link).
If you have the factory 7-way at the rear of your vehicle you will need to splice the blue brake controller output wire to the brake wire in the factory 7-way. The brake controller can be wired with the Wiring Kit for Electric Brake Controllers, item # 5506.
If you do not have a trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle you will need to install a 4-Way trailer connector, item # 118425, and use a Brake Controller Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, to hard-wire a 7-Way trailer connector and the brake controller on your vehicle. We have a video of this kit being installed on a similar vehicle for you to review also.
