Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2009 Toyota Highlander that Accommodates 19 Inch Full Size Spare
Question:
Does this hitch work part # 87452 with the full size 19inch spare tire installed on my 2009 Highlander Sport 4WD model?

In order for the full size spare tire to still be able to be stowed under the vehicle, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver # 75726. Installation of this hitch will require removal of the tow hooks and, if present, the plastic appearance panels that cover the frame rails. No drilling is required to install this hitch. The hitch crosstube will prevent the tire from being lowered straight down, but if the tire is pushed toward the front of the vehicle while it's being lowered it will clear the hitch with no problem.
I have attached an installation video and the written instructions for the # 75726 trailer hitch for you.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system:
Trailer wiring harness with 4 pin connector # 118449
Ball mount # D-4
2 inch trailer ball # 63845
1-7/8 inch trailer ball # 19260
Hitch Pin and Clip item # PC3.
