7-Way to 5-Way Extension Adapter for Boat with Surge Brakes
Question:
I have a 2016 Tacoma with factory installed 7 way and 4 way plug ins on the bumper. My boat has a 5 way flat with surge brakes. Been using the Reese trailer adapter, part# 78118 and connecting the 5 way flat from the boat to it. The 5 way wire from the boat however, is a little short and Im afraid its going to pull out when cornering. I was looking at the Hopkins 3ft. coiled adapter, part hm47025. Would this work? Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Actually the part # HM47025 that you mentioned would be the perfect solution for you to use. The 7-way of the adapter will plug into the 7-way of your truck and then the coiled extension will give you 3 feet of extra wire to attach to the 5-way of your trailer.
