Overdrive On or Off When Towing Using a Programmer on a 2001 Ford F-150 5.4L
Question:
Towing 6klb camper w/5.4L Two part question: 1. Will towing with the overdrive off button overwrite the changes from SC like on later models with Tow/Haul button? 2. Since down shifting is reduced will I be able to tow with overdrive on, or will the shifting in and out of overdrive be the same.

When you tow with any given vehicle and use a programmer such as # SU1845 you will still follow the towing procedure outlined in the vehicle owner's manual. If it states to tow with the overdrive off then you would still do so and it would not cancel out any of the changes made by the programmer. You would also want to use one of the towing tunes preprogrammed in the unit.
