Will Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock fit UFP Square Bodied Coupler
Question:
Coupler lock. I have a new trailer with a UFP square bodied coupler for 2-5/16 ball. I have tried a couple different coupler locks to protect my investment but none of them fit due to the square coupler. Will your Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8, 2, and 2-5/16inch Couplers - work? The two Ive tried with no success are yellow Tow Ready lock and the FastWay Universal coupler lock. Neither will close on the coupler due to the square shape. I have a pin lock for when this is attached to my vehicle but Im looking for a lock for when its not hooked up. Thanks

If the front part of your square-bodied coupler is approximately 3 inches tall, based on the inner dimensions of the lock the Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # BLTL-33 will work well for you. The # BLTL-33 has inner dimensions of 3-1/8 inches x 4-3/4 inches, when the bar is installed in the tallest position.
Another factor to consider is the location of your coupler latch. The key is securing the lock in the underside of the coupler while also covering the latch on top of the coupler so the lock cannot be released from the coupler and simply slid off. If your latch is at the front of the coupler, the # BLTL-33 will work well.
We have not yet had the opportunity to test fit this lock on a square-bodied coupler to ensure it will work well, and none of our customers have let us know if it worked on their square coupler. This coupler lock is designed as a universal type lock to work with many coupler styles.
I've attached a review video of this lock for you. If you need the lock with a padlock, you can use part # BLTL-33-40D.
