Will the Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack Fit Curt Trailer Hitch C11474 on a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
Question:
Is the Thule #TH9035 compatible with Curt C114742 hitch and 2012 Jetta Sportwagen by way of hatchback clearance? I just ordered the Curt receiver for that express purchase and hope I made the right choice.

With Curt trailer hitch # C11474 installed on a 2012 Volkswagen SportWagen it will measure 5-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the rear of the vehicle. The Thule T2 Pro # TH23JV measures 7 inches from the center of the pin hole to the pivoting bracket so it will clear the rear of the vehicle.
When tilted down without bikes loaded opening the rear hatch will not be a problem. With bikes loaded it will depend on the bikes. Road bikes usually have more narrow handlebars than mountain bikes or cruisers. It would likely be close but I do not anticipate it being much of a problem if at all. I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you.
Since you are buying the Curt hitch Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements.
