Im interested in the 2016 Volkswagen Golf Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - Tilting. What type of receiver do I need? And what if any other parts do I need to purchase for installation? Thanks!

Swagman designed their Trailhead 2 Bike Rack # S63360 so that it is compatible with both Class I and Class II 1-1/4-inch hitches AND with Class III 2-inch hitches. This carrier also features 3-inches of height rise in the shank tube (for better ground clearance) and a generous 11-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the upright tube. These characteristics combine to make this a high-value carrier that will work well on many vehicles.
Your 2016 Volkswagen Golf can be fitted with Curt hitch # C11412(as long as you do not have the R model) and support strap # 18050. If you have the R version, you will need the EcoHitch # 306-X733 instead.
All hitches include the required hardware, come with detailed instructions and bolt up to the same spots on the car's frame. A helpful article on hitch installation is linked for you.
If you like you can add Swagman's anti-rattle lock # S64029 to secure the rack to the hitch, and cable lock # e98891 allows you to easily secure the bikes to the carrier.
