Fit and Compatibility of Upgraded Hubs on a 84 Eager Beaver 9 Ton Tri Axle Trailer

Question:

Im looking for a hub and drum to replace my dayton hub on my 84 Eager Beaver 9 ton triaxle with dexter axles. It has 25580 inner bearings and 15123 outers. Id like 9/16 studs. Will a new hub with 14125a outer bearings work? Such as the 8-219-13UC3? Thanks

Yes, the # 8-219-13UC3 will fit onto your 84 Eager Beaver 9 ton tri axles.

Your old outer bearing # 15123 has the same inner diameter as the # 14125a on the 9/16 stud # 8-219-13UC3 hub. Some important things to know about this new hub compared to your old ones is that the bolt pattern will change from a 6 on 5-1/2 to 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. Also the bearings you will need to use will be different, even though they will both fit the spindle the new hub will require the use of the new # 14125a bearing. The outer bearing will remain the same # 25580 but you must use the # 14125a inner bearing. The larger hub and thicker studs will not increase the weight rating of your axle, so you will still be restricted to 18,000lbs on your Eager Beaver. If you were looking to increase your weight capacity you would want to upgrade to a heavier rated axle.

If you are in need of new tires and wheels to accommodate this new bolt pattern, I have linked the page of all the ones we offer for your convenience.
