Can Thule Helium Pro Bike Rack be Used with Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount for 2 Inch Trailer Hitches

Can I use the Thule Helium with the Curt multipurpose D210 ball mount? Is the receiver capable of working with the Thule 2 adapter and securing the rack safely? Thanks

The Thule Helium Aero bike rack, # TH9043PRO, will fit in the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210. Using the included adapter for 2 inch receivers that comes with the Helium will be safe and secure. You can augment the rack with extra security if you want by attaching straps or cables, like the Curt Bike Rack Strap with Cambuckle, # 18050, to the rack and through the safety chain loops on the trailer hitch. The tongue weight capacity of the ball mount itself is 750 pounds. The tongue weight of the trailer, plus the weight of the bike rack and bikes will count against that 750 pound capacity. The receiver portion of the ball mount is limited to 350 pounds of tongue weight. This means that the bike rack and the bikes on it could weigh no more than 350 pounds.

If your trailer hitch has a lower tongue weight capacity, you will have to go by that rating and not exceed it. Again the tongue weight of the trailer, plus the weight of the bike rack and bikes, will count against the trailer hitches tongue weight capacity.
