If your 2005 Dodge Durango was wired for the factory wiring harness you will be able to use the Multi-Plug T-One Connector Assembly for 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 20135, to install a 7-Way and 4-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle. You will find the connector at the rear of the vehicle near the drivers side frame rail above the spare tire.
If you do not have the factory installed tow package wiring you will need to use the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the 2005 Durango by Dodge, item # 118390, to install a 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle. This harness installs inline with the vehicle tail lights, you will need to access the rear of the tail lights (see instructions). You will also need to run a separate power wire to the vehicle battery to protect the sensitive wiring and circuitry in your Durango.
If you then need to install a 7-Way connector you will use the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7. This kit will use the 4-Way mentioned above and the extra circuits will be hard wired. We have detailed instructions on our Brake Controller Installation from Scratch page (see link) for you to use to wire the remaining circuits you need. Any wiring that is not needed can be tied up out of the way with a wire tie.
