Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for 2012 Toyota Tundra
Question:
tell me the proper adapter for pilot brake control unit and where does wires come out in rear of truck
asked by: Doreen P
Expert Reply:
The proper brake controller wiring adapter is # 3040-P, which would plug into the connector located to the left and above the emergency brake pedal, as shown in the photo I provided. If your truck doesn't have the 7-way connector, you can install one using part # HM11143395 which plugs into the connector located behind the rear bumper of the truck.
If you have the older version Pilot brake controller that simply has the bare wires exiting the rear, you'd cut the black plug off your 3040-P and wire it directly to the brake controller, color for color.
