Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying Bike Rack on Back of Pop-Up Camper

Question:

Do you happen to have a inch and a quarter bumper mount receiver? Id like to bowl one of these on the back of my pop up camper so I can slide in my bike rack. I see you have a 2 inch one.

Although we do not have a 1-1/4 inch bumper mount receiver, you can simply install a 2 inch hitch and then use a hitch reducer like part # HT02. This will allow you to use your bike rack with its 1-1/4 inch shank, and the reducer won't have any effect on the hitch's capacity.

I'll link you to the 2 inch receivers we offer that might be compatible with your pop-up. Many of them can be mounted to a 2 or 4 inch rear bumper, but some of the hitches have particular styles of bumpers they're rated for use with, so please pay careful attention to the product descriptions. Checking with the manufacturer of your pop-up to make sure the bumper is capable of carrying a bike rack would also be a good idea.

Also keep in mind that a hitch accessory that's used on a towed trailer will be subjected to greater shaking, bouncing and jarring due to the larger overhang between the rear axle and the rear bumper of a towed trailer. You'll want to make sure you're using a bike rack that's been designed for use in this type of situation, or your rack could be shaken to pieces.

I'll link you to our selection of trailer/motorhome/RV rated bike racks.
