Recommended Hitch Adapter And Locking Hitch Pin For Thule Parkway 2 Bike Carrier For 2 Inch Hitch

Question:

I bought a Thule Parkway 2 off Craigslist for my sisters new car not even thinking about the hitch size. The rack I bought is 1.25inch and her hitch is 2. Whats the best adapter for it, if any? Or do I just sell this one and buy her a new one for a 2inch hitch? Thanks.

Thule does not offer a 1-1/4 to 2 inch adapter for the Parkway 2 bike carrier but I do have a solution for you.

I recommend using a hitch adapter like part # HT02. This slips in the 2 inch receiver of your sister's vehicle and allows you to be able to use the 1-1/4 inch shank of the bike rack in the receiver. The Parkway does come with a threaded hitch pin so it will work just fine with the HT02.

If you do not have the hitch pin or want to add a locking hitch pin to help deter theft of the rack I recommend part # THSTL2. I have attached a link to a product review video for this locking hitch pin you can check out.
