Question:
How does this fasten to the frame on a fifth wheel?

The Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13703, can be bolted or welded to the frame of the trailer, as long as the trailer frame rails are between 22 and 72 inches apart. If bolting it on, you will need to drill 4 holes per side (8 total) for the bolts that attach the brackets to the frame rails. These brackets hold the hitch. You would also need to drill holes through the cross tubing of the hitch to attach it to the brackets.
If welding, weld the brackets to the trailer frame and then weld the hitch to the brackets. No bolts are needed. A qualified, professional welder should be used if you choose to weld the hitch to the brackets. I have included a link to the installation details below.
