Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Ford Expedition
Question:
Dear Support, I need your help and/or a recommendation to add a second auxiliary cooler in line with the stock transmission cooler on a 2003 Expedition Eddie Bauer 4.6 VIN: 1FMRU17WX3LB69646. My objective is to extend the life of the transmission by assisting its stock cooling configuration. Do you carry a kit that comes with the correct type and size fittings needed for my truck? I searched on line and couldn’t confirm the correct size/type fittings for the transmission line connected to the stock cooler and/or the return line coming from the radiator. Expert Reply:
Installing a supplemental transmission cooler in your 2003 Ford Expedition would be an excellent idea since it will prolong the life of the transmission.
The way to pick out one is to go with the largest cooler that will fit the available space in front of the radiator/AC.
The part # D13503 is a very popular choice that would work well for you. The correct fittings you would want are the part # D13025. This will thread into your radiator and onto the metal line so that you don't have to cut or flare any metal lines.
