Splicing Two 3040-P Brake Controller Wiring Adapters Together to Reach Brake Controller
Question:
I think I know how to splice 2 3040-P wires together, but what do I do with the ground wire that came with the extra 3040-P?

All you'll need to do is get a length of 16 gauge primary wire, part # DW02359-1 (sold by the foot) and use a butt connector like # DW05744-5 and a ring connector like # DW05737-1. Simply cut the white wire with the ring terminal and use butt connectors to splice in the length of wire.
You'll also need butt connectors to connect the two # 3040-P wiring adapters together. The blue and black wires are 12 gauge and the red and white wires are 16 gauge. You'll have extra connectors from the ground wire mentioned above, but you'll need some butt connectors for the larger wires, part # DW05745-5.
