Hello, I have a Honda CRV 2000. I need a hitch where the only function is going to be to hold a 4 bicycles. Could you tell me if this hitch is strong enough for this function? Thank you

Your 2000 Honda CR-V can be fitted with either of two sizes/classes of hitch, a 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I type like the Draw-Tite # 24790 you referenced or a higher-capacity 2-inch Class III type such as # 13314 from Curt. In order to use a 4-bike hitch rack you must have a Class III hitch installed on your CR-V. A hitch install video and helpful article are also provided.
You will also need to use a stabilizing strap # 18050 along with the Curt hitch to help support the rack load; this is a requirement for their hitch warranty.
I have linked you to our main page for 4-bike hitch racks that will fit this Class III hitch. My best rack recommendation for your CR-V is the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465. This outstanding carrier is shown in the linked video. It offers many advanced features and allows you to swing the fully-loaded rack out and away from the rear of the car to give you full access. It includes locks for the rack itself AND for your bikes - no extra stuff to buy.
