How Do Curt Stabilizer Straps Work for Supporting Hitch Accessories
Question:
how do the stabilizing straps attach? to stabilize the load on C12490
asked by: Nelda J
Expert Reply:
The stabilizer strap part # 18050 that Curt recommends you use when you are carrying a non-supported hitch accessory like a bike rack will get attached to the rack and then the other end of the strap will clip to the top of the hatch or trunk of the vehicle it gets used on. Check out the review video I attached for the strap.
The Curt Hitch part # C12490 that you referenced is for a Scion xB, for a vehicle like this the strap would get attached to the top of the rear cargo door. I attached an install video for the hitch as well.
Failure to use the strap on a non-supported load will void the warranty of the hitch.
