Hitch Needed for 2015 Honda Accord to Carry Bike Rack with 2" Shank
Question:
Is there a hitch available with 2inch receiver? Its needed only for a bike rack. If not, is there one with a 1 1/4inch receiver that could be modified i.e. cut and weld? Thanks, in advance, for a quick response.

The hitch receivers available for your 2015 Honda Accord are all Class I with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening like the Custom Fit Curt Hitch, # C11681. Curt does require the use of Support Straps, # 18050, for all non-trailer loads including bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
In order to mount a bike rack designed for use with a 2 inch hitch in the Class I hitch, you could use a hitch adapter like the Brophy, # HT5R, with Pin and Clip, # PC2. Please keep in mind that using an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. In this case, your reduced tongue weight capacity would be 100 pounds and the total combined weight of the rack and bikes could not exceed this.
We can not recommend modifying a hitch in any way. Not only would it void the hitch warranty but could also cause damage to your vehicle and pose a safety issue.
