Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Pace Edwards Power Gate Electric Tailgate Lock. This product fits a 1997 to 2011 Dodge Dakota, and it fits the 2010 and 2011 Ram Dakota. This tailgate lock works in conjunction with your Tano cover to keep your truck bed fully secure and locked up. The tailgate locks when you look your doors. So, it wires into the electrical system, ties in to the door locks, and then locks when you lock your vehicle door. So, it mounts to the inside of the tailgate and wires to your truck door.
Comes with everything you see and laid out here on the table as well as detailed installation instructions to help walk you through that whole process step by step.But basically with this, what you get is you get the plug and go wiring harness, you get the actual actuator, stainless steel backing plate. You get the slide bolt with the nylon guide block. All that's included. It's a really nice design. Easy to operate.
Easy to control. Easy to wire in. All the connectors are already pre-attached to the harness so that's nice and easy. You do have some quick splice connectors here for easy connecting, which would be tying into the vehicle's electrical system. You get some cable ties.
Necessary relays are already pre wired in. And the fuse is pre wired in, and right there in the fuse holder. A little 5 amp fuse.That's going to do it for today's look at the Pace Edwards Power Gate Electric Tailgate Lock. Again, this fits a 1997 to 2011 Dodge Dakota, and the 2010 and 2011 Ram Dakota.

Now I can feel safe that my tonneau cover will be locked. There's no key whole, so nothing to Jimmy. Very protected. Also, the lock actuator feels and sounds very sturdy and capable.
Very on time.
Perfect fit.
I feel like there could of been an install video. Would have made the process easier to grasp.
P.S. follow the instructions step by step; they are very insightful into the car model and all its intricacies.

Just the part I needed and it was very helpful to have a real person pick up the phone when I called to ask questions. AND my tailgate locks perfectly now! Wish I had ordered sooner but at least I can check that job off my "to do" list.

The way this works is the solenoid to block the handle from being lifted, all I can see happening is the handle breaking. The solenoid should lock/unlock the actual lock cylinder (if equipped). Wiring diagram for 2013 Toyota Tundra is poor, so I haven’t hooked it up yet.

we were able to install the product just fine, but it doesn't work properly. it only goes one way. We spent hours going over the wiring and everything was correct, the unit just didn't work correctly. we finally gave up. the product is still on the truck but is not being used.

Doesn't appear to fit for 2017 F-150, but instructions were so blurry and smudged when it arrived so its effectively useless for actually following for the install.

Went together like a dream. So easy because it is well-engineered and the fitment is precise. It went in under an hour as the wiring to the electrical was already there due to a failed prior install.

This item worked on my truck. Had a little problem with the installing of the lock. Had to ajust the lock rod on the passenger side of the tailgate, for clearance for lock to fit, and work smoothly. Works Great now.
