If you are using Circuit Tester # PTW2979 and are noticing no power at the 12 volt pin on your 2017 Ford F-350 the reason is very likely that you do not have the 30 amp fuse and relay in positions 27 and 37, respectively. According to my buddy at Diversi-Tech, the set screw that holds the lock cylinder in uses a .050 inch Allen wrench. Before attempting to remove the screw, I would highly recommend soaking the set screw with some penetrating oil because the set screw will have a bit of thread locker on it.

It's going to depend on which trailer connector assembly your truck is using. If it's something like # HM40975, what you're proposing won't work because both of the protective covers over each trailer connector cannot be opened far enough at the same time due to the hinge design.
