Grounding issues do not typically cause fuses to blow since typically they just stop circuits from working. An insufficient ground won't overload a circuit and cause it to blow a fuse.

The short is on the blue wire of the brake controller somewhere between the controller and the trailer connector. Typically it's a bit of corrosion on the inside or the outside of the connector that causes this. Without a solid metal to metal ground, the converter and the trailer wiring may not function properly. You are describing a textbook example of a bad converter. The signal is correct going into the converter but not correct coming out that means that something is wrong inside the converter and it will need to be replaced.

Sounds like you are experiencing what is termed 'Hyperflashing'.
My best recommendation is to remove the 4-way wiring harness and see if the problem still persists. If it does there is a problem in the vehicle wiring.
If the problem goes away, then the converter is probably bad and the harness needs to be replaced.

You will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to find the circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and use it for the stoplight circuit for the # 46365.
It sounds like maybe you haven't found the correct circuit to use yet and that is why the stoplights aren't working.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118431 that you mentioned is only a confirmed fit for the 2015 Kia Soul if it does not feature LED tail lights. Installation of a trailer wiring harness like Curt # C56332 certainly should not have caused battery discharge in your 2015 Kia Sedona but we have seen this issue on occasion. I spoke to my contact at Curt and after I explained to him your situation he said the problem is either you are overdrawing the converter box of the # C56049 or are overdrawing the taillight circuits of your 2009 Kia Optima.
His advice was to convert your incandescent trailer lights to LEDs as they draw considerably less which should fix your problem.

Sounds like the power converter on your T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118410, has shorted out and will need to be replaced.
The converter is designed to divert the lighting signal when you turn on your lights or use the brakes or the turn signals on your Sedona. If these functions are not working properly, then the issue is in the converter box.

Normally wiring harnesses last for years if not decades. Since you have been having so much trouble with yours, It sounds like you have a short somewhere, likely on the trailer, that is killing your converters.

What you are describing sounds like an internally shorted converter box. Anytime we see a trailer taillight want to stay on and the connections are solid that indicates that a short in the trailer wiring most likely damaged the box and is preventing it from functioning properly.
