  • Battery Life On the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light
  • I contacted the manufacturer in regards to this question. Per the manufacturer the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light - Weatherproof - Magnetic Base - 23" Long - 7-Way Round # LIW-LDTL-7B should be fine for several weeks after a full charge, if it is just sitting on the shelf. They recommend that if you use the light bar during the day, you should plug in the charger and get power to it during the night. That way it will always be ready to go. Once fully charged, the bar should last 6-8...

  • Trimming Of Heat Shields Required When Installing Trailer Hitch On 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid
  • I checked out the installation instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11681 that fits your 2015 Accord. Per the instructions, in step 2 the heat shields on both sides will need to be removed and trimmed to allow installation of the hitch. On page 6 of the instructions there is a trimming diagram that shows the measurements for the trimmed area on the shields. As the instructions state, one of the fasteners will not be used when re-installing the shields.

  • Can Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier S510 Carry 2 Kayaks on a 2009 Honda Accord
  • The Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S510 is designed to carry a single 99 lb kayak so you would need 2 of these if you're wanting to carry 2 kayaks with your 2009 Honda Accord. For a single rack that can carry 2 kayaks you'll need something like the Yakima BigStack # Y04041 instead. To attach a carrier to your Accord you're going to need a roof rack kit as well and for that I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex setup which includes the following: 49" Vortex Aero Crossbars - # RRVA126B-2 2500...

  • How to Hardwire a Brake Controller on a 2005 Honda Accord
  • Brake controllers are not vehicle specific. So you can install the Hopkins Agility Electric Brake Controller, # HM47294, in your 2005 Honda Accord. The plug, Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter, # HM47935, probably will not fit on the vehicle side, so you would need to hardwire the brake controller to your vehicle. The plug is designed for Honda models that have a factory tow package. To hardwire the brake controller, there are 3 things you will need. First is the brake controller...

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Require Additional Hardware
  • The only hitch that we have for a 2022 Honda Accord, is the Curt # C11525 but, unfortunately, it does not fit the Hybrid models. We do have trunk mounted bike racks like the Yakima FullBack # Y02634 or we can get you set up with a roof rack to carry bikes or cargo.

  • Vertical Movement on Curt Trailer Hitch # C11327 Installed on 2007 Honda Accord
  • I spoke with my contact at Curt regarding the Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11327 on your 2007 Honda Accord. He stated that while they have not heard of any issues like what you are describing with the small gap between the carriage bolt and tow loop on the vehicle, it is possible that there is a small manufacturer variance with the tow loop itself. It might be that the tow loop on your specific vehicle is just a tiny bit thinner than normal. He stated that under normal circumstances, if...

  • Best Snow Chain for 2018 Honda Accord with P235/40R19 Tire Size for Clearance
  • What we have found that is if you contact a Honda dealer in an area that has tire chain requirement laws (near mountains) they will have alternatives that they can recommend which will give you a snow chain setup that's safe for the vehicle and will work great for traction. That said the K-Summit chains part # th02230k34 that you referenced offers the best clearance by far as it does not drape over the inner sidewall of the tire which is where the interference typically is. I am very...

  • Does the Power Wire of the Tow Ready Wiring Harness for 2014 Honda Accord Need to Run to Battery
  • I can only recommend what the manufacturer of the Tow Ready Wiring Harness # 118596 recommends for routing the power wire, which is that you will need to route the wire to the positive side of your vehicle battery. The purpose of routing it to the battery is to protect the delicate wiring of your 2014 Honda Accord. In the event of a short on your trailer, even though it has minimal lights, this added protection will ensure that you would not damage the wiring of your vehicle. This could...

  • Wire Length and Connection Points for TowReady Trailer Wiring Harnesses # 118302 and # C55502
  • Both the Tow Ready # 118302 and the Curt # C55502 trailer wiring harnesses that fit your 2004 Honda Accord Sedan will make all three required plug-in connections at the drivers-side tail light. You can see the installation process in a 2006 Accord in the linked video. None of these wires needs to reach over to the passenger side which is sometimes the case with wiring for other vehicles. Each of the three connectors' wiring is approximately 15-inches long, plenty to make the necessary connection...

  • Installing Curt Class I Receiver # C11496 on 2013 Honda Accord
  • As you can see by looking at the installation instructions I have linked to, the procedure for installing the # C11496 is quite a bit more involved than that used when you installed the # 60953 on your 2003 Accord. Because the heat shields will need to be bent out of the way to allow access to where the hitch attaches to the frame members, lowering the exhaust will be a necessity. Lowering the exhaust is not terribly difficult, you will need to spray some lubricant like WD-40 on the exhaust...

  • The Curt hitch # C11496 that fits the coupe and sedan (and hybrid) versions of the 2016 Honda Accord is a bolt-in installation that requires no drilling. Install time for a novice would be around an hour and a half. Written instructions and a video are linked for your reference if you care to consider a DIY installation as many of our customers do.

  • Additional Straps Included with the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack
  • The strap that connects the frame to the wheel is an included support strap with the Thule Passage, part # TH910XT to help keep the wheels straight like you said. The additional blue strap shown in the test track portion video is a tie down strap that we don't cover in the videos usually, but it is a recommended part of the installation process. This is a failsafe for the bikes in case their straps come off.

  • How to Avoid Need for Brake Light Relay In Towed Vehicle Using Supplementary Braking System
  • If you prefer not to install a brake light relay # RM-88400 in your flat towed 2005 Honda Accord when using a supplemental braking system like the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 you can use a set of independent magnetic towing lights such as # TL21RK. Unless you use separate lights you need the relay to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn. It is not safe to power a towed vehicle braking system from...

  • Do Konig Tire Chains TH00023100 Drape Over the Tires or Wrap Behind them when Installing
  • The only wrong way to put the Konig tire chains, such as # TH00023100, on the tires would be backwards or inside out. So long as the end result is the same (chains are installed and secured on the tires) the starting out method you choose really doesn't matter. In some cases you may not be able to easily run the chains around the tires like we show. So the bottom line is that it is situational. Try either method and use the one that works best for you. Make sure that blue cable is on the...

  • Installation of SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1002 and Short Roof Adapter # SR1116
  • The four foot assemblies included in the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1002 can be adjusted relative to the crossbars. Their exact position depends on each unique vehicle as listed in the instructions. The linked video illustrates. This adjustment can effect their exact position on the rain gutters. So long as you positioned the rack as directed by the manufacturer then the foot assemblies should be close to lining up with the rain gutters. There may be some slight variation but...

  • Can Rear Door of 2002 Honda CRV Be Opened With Bikes Installed on Rack
  • In Yakima's installation instructions for the SpareRide, they state that opening the tailgate of the vehicle while the bikes are installed on the rack could result in damage to the vehicle. I'd recommend removing the bikes before opening the tailgate. The hinges of the tailgate are typically only rated for the weight of the door and spare tire itself with enough wiggle room to accommodate the approximate 25 lb weight of the bike rack. The portion of the SpareRide rack that the bikes attach...

  • Does Curt Vehicle WIring Harness For Trailer Connection Power Line Fuse Effect Vehicle Lights?
  • If the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56299 has a blown fuse on the power line, it will not allow the trailer lights to function as it is protecting the module, but it will not impact your vehicle tail lights if that fuse were to blow because it is on a different power supply and fuse from the manufacturer wiring.

  • Base Plates and Other Needed Accessories to Flat Tow 2006 Honda Accord
  • The Roadmaster base plate kit # 1545-1 comes with full installation instructions. I will send you a .pdf copy in a separate email. According to my research, the 2006 is capable of being flat towed, unless it is a hybrid model with the CVT transmission. Read and follow the guidelines listed in the emergency towing section of your owners manual. In addition to the base plates, you will need a tow bar, safety cables, wiring and in many states and Canadian provinces, a supplemental braking...
