The brake lights and turn signals are sent along the same circuit for trailer wiring so it's a bit odd that the turn signals are working fine but the brake lights aren't powering on with the Tekonsha Harness # 118463 installed. Most likely the culprit is a bad or weak ground on the harness. Since brake lights require a more constant power draw when activated a weak ground might be allowing enough power for the turn signals but not enough to fully power the lights when the brakes are applied.... view full answer...
There is not an extension available for the MaxxTow Roof Mounted Cargo Basket MT70115 that you referenced. We do have other cargo baskets like the Curt # C18115 that can be extended with the add-on piece # C18117, but unfortunately this isn't possible with your existing unit.
If you are needing a little more space for cargo another option is a hitch-mounted cargo carrier like the Curt # C18145 if you have a trailer hitch installed on your vehicle. If you don't yet have a trailer hitch... view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36297 is a Class II, 1-1/4" receiver that fits your 2002 Volvo V70 XC. Currently there are no Class III 2" Receivers for your Volvo. This receiver has a maximum tongue weight rating of 300lbs and towing capacity of 3,500lbs. Be sure that you do not exceed the maximum rating given from Volvo for your V70 XC.
I recommend the Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter # C59496 if you are going to pull a trailer or will need to use... view full answer...
The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump - 12 Volt - 3 Gallons Per Minute at 55 psi, # P25201 is a good option. This can be positioned either vertical or horizontal orientation and has a built in check valve to prevent back flow. This is installed using standard half inch diameter hose making it a good replacement option for any OEM pump that has an approximate flow rate of 3 gallons per minute. view full answer...
For your 1999 Volvo V70 the Draw Tite hitch part # 36262 is a confirmed fit and what I would recommend. It is confirmed as a fit for all models of your vehicle so it will work with yours being front wheel drive. I like this one over the Curt because it does not require a stabilizer strap with a non supported load like a bike rack like the Curt does. view full answer...
There are 3 brake lines included in the Hydraulic Line Kit, item # 9504. The longest is 180 inches, and the two that are designed to run from the T to each wheel are 30 inches and 72 inches long.
Normally the hydraulic lines are ran down the left side of the trailer and the longer line is ran to the right side of the trailer. If the lines are too long, the line can be cut and flared with a double flaring tool or coiled, top down, to remove some of the length. view full answer...
If your trailer has a 7-Way connector, then it either already has electric brakes or is set up for electric brakes. Either way, you would not want to use the pin and wiring for the electric brake to charge a battery because it is too small a gauge for this application. A 7-Way connector already has a pin for a 12 volt accessory. If you are looking at the face of the trailer side 7-Way, it is in the 11 oclock position. This wire is only large enough to maintain a battery but will not charge... view full answer...
All of the wiring kits available for your 2001 Volvo V70XC will require you to identify the correct wires on the tail lights and tie into the wires using quick splice wire connectors.
The Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 is the 4-way harness that I recommend using. This kit also includes a test light to check your wiring and ensuring that you are connecting to the correct wiring on your Volvo. The powered converter nearly eliminates the excess draw on the vehicle harness and mounts... view full answer...
The K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors # KS3990 referenced in your question is a universal, clip-on set that should work great on your 2004 Volvo V70. This adjustable mirror will clip right onto the edge of the factory mirror on your Volvo and will fit perfectly as long as the factory mirror is 4-1/2 inches to 11-1/2 inches tall. Its snug fit will help to reduce any mirror vibration and the rubber pads on the straps will also protect your mirror's housing from scratches. 2 mirrors... view full answer...
Your best option for avoiding ground contact with a hitch mounted rack will be a platform style rack with a large or offset rise. This means the distance from the shank where the rack connects to the hitch and where the bikes actually sit is much higher than normal. There are a few great racks that have these kinds of offsets.
A premium option for this kind of rack is the Thule T1, part # TH9041. This two bike, wheel mount rack sits gives plenty of additional ground clearance for the bikes.... view full answer...
We do carry a similar bike rack that will fit the factory cross bars that run side to side on your 2009 Volvo V70. Take a look at the Thule UpRide Wheel-Mount Bike Carrier - Roof Mount, # TH599000. You do not have to remove the front wheel to use this rack. It will accommodate 20 to 29 inch bike tires that are up to 3 inches wide.
Yakima does not list the FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, # Y02103, as a fit for your Volvo. view full answer...

I would not recommend using the Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack, # S64665, with your 2001 Volvo V70 T5 if it has a class I or class II trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. This is a pretty heavy bike rack at 65 lbs that was designed for 2 inch trailer hitch receivers only. You most likely have a 1-1/4 inch receiver, but if you have a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver, then I would not recommend using a hitch extender.
You can determine the size of your trailer hitch receiver by measuring... view full answer...
For your beach cruisers that have fenders I would recommend a platform bike rack that uses a frame mount since the fenders would interfere with wheel mounts.
The Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 is one of the most popular racks because it's so easy to use, and because the rack has an angled shank that would raise the bike rack up by three inches providing additional ground clearance. Because of that, this is the rack I'd recommend for you. The rack includes an anti-rattle hitch bolt, but a... view full answer...
I have a solution for you, but the TracRac Ladder Rack part # TH29200XT that you referenced is designed for camper shells.
Instead you would want the Rhino Rack roof rack that consists of part numbers # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK133.
For load stops to use on the roof rack to secure the ladder you would want the part # S602. Then for straps part # RTD3. view full answer...
The Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock # THSTL2 is threaded specifically for the Thule racks listed on its product page. This is the only locking pin offered that is for Thule racks. view full answer...
I checked the install instructions for the Curt hitch part # C12318 which is a confirmed fit for your 2007 Volvo V70 and there is no drilling or notching/trimming at all needed to install the hitch.
Basically you just install the hitch between the exhaust hanger bracket and tow hook bracket on the frame of the vehicle without any drilling. view full answer...
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36262 is confirmed to fit all models of the 1999 Volvo V70. In the linked instructions it doesn't call out anything specific for your XC model so I wouldn't know off-hand, but Draw-Tite is typically really good with pointing out any differences that need to be noted for installing the same trailer hitch on different models.
If you let me know what you will be using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations as necessary. view full answer...
You will not need to trim the fascia of your 2004 Volvo V70 in order to install the Curt Hitch # 12318. If you check out the installation instructions that I attached you can see that there will not be any drilling or fascia modifying to complete the installation. view full answer...
