The 2007 Volkswagen Eos has a Multiplexed wiring system that requires wiring the Upgraded Heavy Duty Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, item # C59496, for a trailer connector. There are 3 ways of wiring depending on how your vehicle is wired from the factory. In the instructions, at step 9 (see link), it explains that you may have a two wire system that requires the red stop wire to be grounded along with the white wire. If you have the 3 wire system (most likely) with amber... view full answer...
I reached out to my contact at Lippert parts and found out that the Lippert # LC285318 electric jack does not have a replacement drop foot. To replace this you could install another Lippert LC285318 which you know will be a perfect fit, or you could check out the Lippert # LC643589 "Smart" Electric Jack. the smart jack has better lighting and remembers tongue possitions for quick and easy hook up.
If you decide not to run the old wires all the way to the terminal, you will need connectors... view full answer...
It to me sounds like an internal problem. But I would first check to make sure the wiring on the 7-way of your vehicle and trailer doesn't have a short from exposed wire. It almost sounds like the wiring from the 12 volt accessory circuit is shorting out to the output circuit when you hit the brakes which causes a quick application of full braking voltage. view full answer...
Trailer wiring harness # 118509 is a powered converter that requires a direct connection to the vehicle battery. If you did not make the connection to the battery or the fuse is missing or blown then it would not show any power on any of the circuits (when activated).
If the connection to the battery is good and the fuse is inserted then check the ground connections (white wire). It must be attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. No paint or anything. And it works best... view full answer...
Have you tried testing the 4-Way connector of the (discontinued) T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness 118765 on your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan? If you use a circuit tester # PTW2993 or a multimeter # PTW1714 on the T-One 4-Way, you can determine if the issue is on your vehicle side or trailer side.
If on the vehicle side, try testing the wiring on the vehicle side of the ModuLite. If power is getting to the ModuLite but not coming out then the ModuLite is bad, and you need to replace the entire wiring... view full answer...
It sounds like your back up sensors deactivate when you plug in trailer wiring. This would be to prevent the sensors from going off all the time while in reverse because of them detecting the trailer behind you.
The best solution I can provide would be to install a second 4-way that bypasses the factory one of your 2014 Volkswagen Touareg. For that you would want the part # 118668.
The error message you are receiving is a common problem on German vehicles when they are connected to a... view full answer...
The first thing you can do, is double check the instructions and ensure that the feet are installed correctly. Something as simple as the feet being improperly spaced, or if everything is not tightened down completely, could lead to the issue you're having.
If you've checked that that is all good, then you can put a strip of duct tape like # PT23ZR over the base of the foot to give it a tighter seal.
However, realistically if the dealership installed this roof rack, they need to be the... view full answer...
With the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4175 installed on your 2018 Volkswagen Atlas there may be some vertical play left and will depend on how far the spring is compressed. The air bags are designed to fit the width inside the spring. When Inflated the bag will push into the coils and that is how they provide the additional support. view full answer...
I would be happy to help!
Since you confirmed that the ground wire of the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to verify that there is power on the single green, yellow, red, and brown wire going into the module.
If you have power on each of those wires going into the module but not out then it is likely the module is defective.
If you do not have power going into the module then you will need... view full answer...
What gauge wire do you have run to your brake assemblies? If it's thinner than 10 gauge you might want to try upgrading the wiring. We sell it by the foot, part # 10-1-1.
Since the brakes seem to work when operated straight from a vehicle battery (which will have more amperage than a controller), but not from a brake controller it almost sounds like your brake magnets could be weak or the grounds/wiring isn't quite sufficient.
Try testing the brake magnets. I attached an FAQ on how this... view full answer...
To determine if the problem is on the vehicle side or the trailer side you can do some testing with a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter if you have one. Disconnect the trailer and use the circuit tester to test the 4-Way connector on your 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen while someone sits in the car and goes through the light functions.

The item you selected, Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC6, will help a bit in any noise or bounce of the drawbar. The recommended rise and drop for a ball mount on your 2011 Volkswagen Routan is 2 inch rise and 4 inch drop. You will need to use Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC4.
Another thing that can contribute to the rough ride you are feeling is low tongue weight. The tongue weight on your Coachmen Clipper 1285 SST may be very low. Proper loading of the trailer, with heavier items... view full answer...
I would start with checking the white ground wire that got grounded to your 2014 Volkswagen Touareg, as this is a pretty common issue when a ground does not have a good connection. Make sure the ground is secured to clean corrosion free metal.
Next remove both of the tail lights on your vehicle, and check that the pins inside of the connectors of the # 118668 are not bent or damaged.
If all of those check out, use your circuit tester to check the yellow and green wires coming into the... view full answer...
Based on what you are describing yes, the 7-Way to 5-Way/4-Way Trailer Adapter for Vehicles with Lamp-Out Sensors Towing Trailers with LEDs # C35FR.
The problem is likely that the LED signals from your trailer are not being read by your vehicle's computer. Adapters like this one use built-in resistors to solve that problem. If you need a 7-way the Curt 7-Way Trailer Adapter for Towing Trailers with LED Lights # C57003 is also available. view full answer...
The SH code on the Prodigy Brake Controller, # 90885, indicates that while idle, the brake controller is sensing a short in the brake wire. Most likely this is due to corrosion on the trailer connector pins so I would recommend cleaning them to see if that helps. If that doesn't fix it you need to look for cut or exposed wire on this circuit most likely on the trailer side of the wiring and clean up as needed. If it's blank now check under the hood for the fuse or relay associated with... view full answer...
With a 3 wire system:
If your Rabbit has combined stop and tail lights AND has an additional tail light wire independent of the stop light wire, here is what you will need to do. Attach the red stop light wire from the harness to the combined stop and tail light circuit. Then attach the brown wire from the harness to the independent circuit. Turn signal functions will need to be tapped into at the front of the vehicle at the headlight assemblies.
If the vehicle has a 2 wire system:

Exhaust rattles do occur on some vehicles. I have not had the opportunity to install this hitch on the GTI yet so I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite. He stated that the exhaust was taken into account when designing the hitch and that they have had no complaints about exhaust rattles from customers who have installed the hitch.
The instructions for the # C11000 hitch show that hitch will be sandwiched between the rear exhaust hanger and the vehicle frame member. This repositioning should... view full answer...
The power wires only function is to power the trailer tail lights and isolate the power draw from the trailer so the vehicle is protected. The situation you are experience should not have anything to do with the power wire unless something was really wired incorrectly.
I have not heard of this problem occurring. But Volkswagens can be tricky. You have to be absolutely sure you have the correct wire so testing the wiring with a circuit tester like # PTW2979 is a must.

A 7-way trailer socket like # 37185 on a vehicle includes a 12V auxiliary trailer power circuit that is intended to maintain a charged battery installed on the trailer while you drive. This power feed cannot charge a depleted battery but it can maintain one that is already well-charged. If you refer to the linked photo of a 7-way vehicle socket you will note this circuit is carried on the pin at the 1-o-clock position as you view the socket.

Yes, it does sound like the issue is on your 2019 Volkswagen Atlas but I do recommend checking your Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # TK22FR is wired correctly. This could cause the issue you are getting with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as well. You can see where the wiring goes into the connectors on the product page. Be sure the terminals are fully seated as well and not pushing out of the connectors. Then you should start with the ground side as that wire will be more easily traced... view full answer...
