Like you said the use of a weight distribution system depends on the vehicle specifications. I checked with Tesla and they do not recommend the use of one due to the unibody construction. Weight distribution systems transfer a portion of the weight of the trailer to the vehicle. A bumpy road will transfer a lot of stress into the unibody of the Model X. The reason that's considered detrimental is that the entire body will bend and twist repeatedly, and could eventually fail.

I checked with our vendors and as of 04/27 the only hitch available for the 2023 Tesla Model X is the Draw-Tite item # 76143. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Tesla with included hardware. It does not have a removable receiver so you wouldn't need to use the magnetic accessory. However, there will still need to be a hole cut in the removable panel for the 2" receiver.

The Prodigy RF should only have to pair to the remote once and you'd be good from there on out. You don't actually pair the controller to the vehicle as it's really just the remote to the controller. If your setup is losing it's pair that would indicate an issue with the RF and not your vehicle. The issue your are experiencing is likely similar to the problems that require adapter # C57003. The LED lights do not draw enough power for the tow package to recognize that they are there. The brake magnets draw more power which is why the controller recognizes that a trailer is connected.
