It sounds like you have adjusted the brake output on your controller but may need to perform some other maintenance for your brakes to work properly. If you have a Prodigy brake controller, you most likely have the original or the P2 # 90885. To test your controller, you can use a circuit tester like # ALL640595 to test the brake output pin of your 7-way at the 5 o'clock pin while using the manual override. The quick connect is designed to have propane come out and is fed from the main propane tanks on your 2014 Keystone Sprinter. Check for a small lever on the side of the connection that needs to be flipped down so it is in-line to allow the propane to flow.

External sensor error means there is an issue with the rear leveling sensor. This will be located 2-3 foot behind the rearmost axle. There may be an access panel in the underbelly, or there may not. It sounds like you will have to insert the end of # A10-5025ED, rotate it to "lock" it into place, and then run the cable up and over the yellow plug and then route the cable down so that the weight is on the other side pulling the plug the opposite direction it would turn if the cable was hanging normally.

If your landing gear is acting up like that then you need to check your ground to make sure it is secured to a clean, bare-metal surface, your power wiring that nothing it damaged, and then the battery in your 2010 Keystone Avalanche because a depleted battery could possibly be sending intermittent power like what you described.

While it is normal for trailer brakes to get hot from braking if yours are getting excessively hot and only on 3 of the 4 assemblies they are likely too tight and creating friction while driving. You can adjust the Brakes # 23-26-27 that you have on your 2017 Keystone Bullet by using a Brake Adjustment Spoon # W80630 to turn the Adjuster # BP10-060. What you are describing makes complete sense as you would think a 12,000lb GVWR tandem axle 5th wheel would have two 6,000lb axles so each wheel would have to be able to support 3,000lbs. What you are most likely dealing with is some manufacturers have started adding the trailers tongue weight to the axle capacity to give the final GVWR. It sounds like you may have an issue with the Receiver # LC305117 for the Linc Analog Remote # LC292614. Be sure to check the fuses in the receiver as well as the antenna wire for any damage. It sounds like you either have a lose connection or a just a bad controller. I would start by ensuring your wires are making full contact in the controller and the motor and that you don't have any cuts or damage in the wires along the way that could be causing a short. Check to see if there's power at the motor while pressing the extend or retract buttons to narrow down the issue to the controller or wiring between the motor and the controller. Since you're able to operate the landing gear legs manually, most likely the internal gears are okay.
Where I would check first though is the actual 12V battery that you mentioned being hooked up to. It's vital that the battery these systems are wired to are COMPLETELY charged and in good condition. I know you said you're getting power to the motor, but I'm wondering if there's enough. If you test the wiring right after the battery, you should be getting 13+ volts.
