When you first put power to this brake controller it displays a "n.c." code which means that it doesn't sense a trailer connected. In order to properly adjust the Dexter electric brake assemblies on your travel trailer, you will first need to raise the trailer and check that the wheel and drum rotate freely. Remove the adjusting hole cover from the slot on the bottom of the assembly's backing plate. Dimensions on most pin boxes are not the same, with the most important differential being the bolt pattern. Your pin box should have sticker on it either on the side or front that will have some serial numbers on it that we can use to identify the pin box.

When you install the back it will basically click into place. When you remove it you simply move the tabs so that you can lift the back off.
