Where Does Gooseneck Hitch Ball Normally Sit in Bed of Truck
Question:
What distance from the front bed rail does the gooseneck ball in trailer need to be.

Expert Reply:
Ideally the gooseneck hitch ball gets centered right above the rear truck axle or sometimes up to a couple inches forward from that point. This puts the pin weight of the gooseneck trailer squarely on the rear suspension and doesn't allow it to unweight the front axle of the truck at all.
