To add a 7-way to your Japanese Domestic Market 1995 Land Cruiser Prado, you'll first need a functioning 4 pole trailer connector. You can install one using part # C59496 which would need to be hardwired into the existing taillight wiring harnesses.
The # C59496 taillight converter harness includes a circuit tester and all the wire, fuse holder, fuse and hardware needed to complete the installation. While a helper activates each turn signal function, you can use the tester to probe the... view full answer...
Honda didn't provide a brake controller connector in the 2014 Odyssey, but have no fear, the installation is pretty straightforward, as you'll see in the installation video and installation instructions I've linked for you.
In addition to the Prodigy P3 brake controller, part # 90195, you'll also need the brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7 and a 4-pole trailer connector, # 118521 unless your Odyssey already has one.
The video shows the install kit being used to install a... view full answer...
This is a great question but the short answer is that no, you would not get pulled over for having a bike rack obstruct the view of your license plate with the Hollywood Racks Over the Top part # HRF2-3 installed. Technically an officer could give you a hard time but in reality they don't seem to ever care about this type of thing. We sell a TON of bike racks and we've yet to receive feedback that a blocked license plate got them into trouble. Most of the time the plate is still reasonably... view full answer...
Although Tow Ready hasn't done an install on an Odyssey that's equipped with the HondaVac option, I was able to obtain some very welcome feedback from one of our Customers who recently installed the # 118521 on his 2015 Odyssey SE with the integrated vacuum cleaner. Below is the information he kindly provided:
The procedure follows the same install steps provided in video, the only difference is the routing of the wires and the location of the control box.
- unscrew the HondVac hose

The weld nuts were probably still dirty, when you were installing the hitch which caused the weld nut to brake off when putting torque on it. If you have not already installed the other bolts, you will want to clean them out with WD-40 and wire brush (see video link).
What you will want to do is take some vice grips to hold the head of the bolt in place, then take an angle grinder with a cut off wheel or a reciprocating saw to cut the bolt. Then, using an access hole towards the front... view full answer...
To activate and control the brakes on your trailer you will need to install a brake controller and 7-way connector on your 2004 Honda Odyssey.
For a brake controller, I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, which is a proportional brake controller. A proportional brake controller sends power to the trailer brakes in proportion to the brake force applied to your vehicle.
To install the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, you will first need to install the Brake... view full answer...
The Pilot Automotive Round Tube Stainless steel Step # CR-600LED that you mentioned does not turn off the reverse sensors. The sensors should be controlled by a button on the dash of your 2014 Honda Odyssey.
This hitch step tube extends from the rear of the vehicle from 7 to 9 inches, and is 18 inches wide. Due to the extension, it is possible that this tube step may activate an alarm or be visible in your reverse system, but it will not turn off the sensors when plugged in.

There is big misunderstanding on how the air springs which fit inside coil springs like the Air Lit # AL60815 for your 2012 Honda Odyssey work. Many think the air spring inflates vertically like a traditional air spring but on these they actually push out between the coils. This helps to prevent how much the coils compress under load. With the air line running out the bottom of the lower control arm this helps to keep the air spring at the bottom of the control arm keeping it away from... view full answer...
Using the anti-rattle knob is sort of a science. The best tip I can offer is to tighten the knob like you normally would. Then give the rack a push up while turning the knob some more. You will find that there is still some space that can be taken up. Keep doing variations of this, moving the rack around while tightening the knob and it will get nice and snug and reduce the movement.
With any rack in any hitch with any type of anti-rattle device, there is going to be some movement. Following... view full answer...
The aftermarket roof racks that fit your 2022 Honda Odyssey have feet that wrap around the raised siderails as opposed to installing with the existing holes like your OEM crossbars. This means that the Rhino-Rack roof rack, parts # RRVA137B-2 and # RRSX100, can be adjusted along your roof rails to accommodate longer loads.
Attached is a review video of this roof rack installed on Odyssey raised rails for you to check out.
If you let me know what you're wanting to use the roof rack for... view full answer...
Lets begin with the two leads that exit each brake magnet. One lead from each magnet needs to ground to the trailer frame. The brake magnets carry no polarity, so it does not matter which lead is grounded, and which lead is connected to the brake output circuit. Unfortunately, we do not offer a connector such as you describe.
There are quick splice connectors available, but for a lasting, trouble-free connection I recommend soldering the connection and using heat shrink tubing to protect... view full answer...
The fuse compartment can be found on the passenger side kick panel, near the glove box. Open fuse compartment and place the 7.5 amp fuse into the position #5. The Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, # RM-048-8, is only designed for tow bar applications. I do have another, more cost effective solution. You could use the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210. Though it is designed to tow while carrying a cargo carrier or bike rack, you can use it to just carry a cargo carrier. The rise on the receiver is not as high as the High-Low adapter, but the receiver portion has a 350 lb tongue weight. view full answer...
Thank you for the photo of your trailer's tongue area.
The Prodigy RF Brake Controller # TK94FR can be mounted in any of several points on a typical a-frame trailer. The diagram I linked shows you the preferred location on the outside of the driver-side frame rail, as well as alternates. These other acceptable mounting points include a jack/winch mount, as shown. You could certainly bolt a plate to the winch post if you prefer and mount the RF there.
It is important that the control box... view full answer...

The CURT Trailer Hitch, # C13068, for the 2010 Honda Odyssey does have an installation note that states models have underbody fascia covering the driver side frame. This will be removed and can be left off or trimmed and reattached. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.

Trailer wiring harness # 118521 is rated for 4.2 amps per side for brake lights and turn signals and 7.5 amps total for running lights. Since your trailer has exterior lights you will need to determine the amperage draw of all the lights on the running light circuit. The amperage draw should be on the lights somewhere.
If the amperage draw exceeds the capacity of the harness I recommend switching everything over to LED lights. LEDs use a fraction of the power that incandescents use. They... view full answer...
The general rule of thumb is that if the trailer comes with brakes then you need to add a brake controller in your tow vehicle (2010 Honda Odyssey) to utilize them. Another great source to reference about this is your owner's manual. When I looked up the online version of your owner's manual on page 408 it says that Honda recommends using brakes for any trailer that will have a total weight of at least 1,000 lbs.
If you are getting a 16' Scamp trailer that comes with brakes then I recommend... view full answer...
Rather than using the # HM47200, I'd go with the # ETBC7L, which includes a 4-pole to 7-way adapter plus the wire and circuit breaker needed to run the power supply wire up to the positive battery terminal that's needed to power the Curt # C51180 wireless brake controller. You'll only need to run one wire from the adapter to the battery at the front of the vehicle, and ground the adapter's white wire to the vehicle. The remaining wires on the adapter won't be needed.
