Actually the hitch part number you mentioned of 87604 is no longer available but for a similar hitch made by the same company we have the Draw Tite # 75992 which would fit and work well. It does have drilling listed as a requirement as all of the current hitch fits for your 2011 Ford Edge require.

The Roadmaster EZ base plates # 524426-1 and the XL model, # 4408-1, use different receivers, which is that main crossbar the arms attach to. They are nearly identical but since the EZ model has not been tested or confirmed to fit your 2011 Ford Edge I cannot recommend it.

We only have one 1-1/4" hitch for the Ford Edge and that is the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch # C12140. It has a great ground clearance of 13". It is not a hidden hitch, and I attached a video of this hitch install if you want to see exactly how it looks on a vehicle.

In my research I found that the load-carrying capacity of the roof on your 2013 Edge is 100 lbs. A roof rack that clips to the door frame would have a limited weight capacity and would not clear the side rails on your Edge.
