What is Difference Between Curt Trailer Wiring Harnesses that Fit 2018 Ford Edge
Question:
I installed the subject wiring harness on my 2018 Ford Edge, SE Model with FW drive, and it doesnt work properly. Worst problem, trailer lights go out when Vehicle brakes are applied. Data I just now obtained from your information indicates that I should have installed a part no. 56272 wiring harness. Diagrams of the two products look like the materials are the same, so I assume that the difference must be in the electronic module. What is the difference it the two products? Will the subject part no. not work at all on my vehicle? If not, can I just purchase a replacement module and splice it in? Thanks for your help.

The connectors and the converter box of the two Curt wiring harnesses that fit the 2018 Ford Edge part # C56292 for the Sport and Titanium and the # C56272 that fits the SE and SEL models are the same but the pin outs of the connectors are different. I don't have a way to tell you to rewire the pins aside from testing the wires with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the function on the input side so that you could wire everything so that the on the green wire there was the right turn circuit, yellow had left turn, red had stop, and white was ground.
