Start by checking the connector on your Durango. Make sure there is no corrosion or debris present. Corrosion could allow the power to jump pins which would activate the marker lights when the brakes are pressed. If you find corrosion it would be best to replace it with the # HM40975.

The Curt Echo # C51180 is a Bluetooth brake controller so you don't need to run any more wires. As far as the brakes being activated when the turn signals are on, it sounds like you might've wired the brakes into the combined stop/turn signal circuit on the trailer or there is a short between the turn signal wire and the brake output wire on the 7-Way.

At this time DeeZee has not confirmed if the NXc Running Boards # DZ16201-16241 will fit the 2023 model. DeeZee only lists these fitting the 2011-2022 models of the Durango. Aries lists their running boards as fitting the 2011-2024 models, and I don't know of any changes that would prevent it, so I'm willing to bet these fit. You're certainly welcome to try, we just can't guarantee they will work.
